Brand Tone

Kristin’s response to the initial design presentation was very positive. She loved the overall style, the dark green and gold combination, the backgrounds, and how it all looked together. She was concerned that the EH monogram looked like EI and asked me to add rays to the arc since she really wanted a sunburst in the design. I separated the E and H in the monogram and replaced the linear arc with a set of rays. We went back and forth a few times and when I showed her the second set of revisions she immediately knew it was what she wanted. Take a look!

Feedback & Finalization

Initial Brand Presentation

Using the creative direction of the chosen moodboard, I moved on to develop the branding. This involved designing a collection of brand logos, submarks, and a color palette. I also defined a photography style, and demonstrated the designs in various real-world applications.

For the brand mark, I designed a monogram featuring a minimalist sunrise above and a star below to anchor it to the brand name. The mark mimics the stroke of a calligraphic pen, and I customized the font to echo this style.

In my designs, I used light to depict the transformation from ‘before’ to ‘after’ an epiphany, employing photography and contrasting colors. After Kristin shared these concepts with her photographer, they chose the “golden hour” for her brand photoshoot. These images now feature prominently on her website and resonate strongly with her brand identity.

Two creative concepts were presented via moodboards. The first moodboard featured deep green, gold, geometric lines, and a upscale boho vibe. The second moodboard had an airy, beach vibe playing off Kristin’s desire to include a sunburst. Both concepts resonated with Kristin but the first one felt right for her business.

Moodboard Presentation

Kristin envisioned her branding with a sunburst and a palette of greens and gold. Together, we decided on a brand tone designed to be transformative, intuitive, hopeful, caring, and peaceful aligning with the needs of those seeking Kristin’s services.

Brand Direction

Kristin Hummel, an RN and certified holistic health coach, started Epiphany Holistic after Western medicine failed her. The name “epiphany” reflects the moments after Kristin received her positive Lyme diagnosis, after being told over and over that everything was “normal” despite numerous health issues. Now healthier than ever, she’s on a mission to guide others through their own health transformations.

About the Client

Once the branding was complete we began working on the website. Together, we mapped out the website experience and Kristin wrote the copy using a website content workbook that I provided.

epiphanyholistic.com is a user-friendly Showit website where you can explore Kristin’s unique holistic health services and book appointments. This semi-custom website was designed using the Two Violets Yarrow template. Tailored to fit Kristin’s brand and content, bringing the Epiphany Holistic identity to life online.
