I had my colors analyzed because I kept hearing about seasonal color analysis and was curious to see what it would tell me.
I remember standing in fitting rooms holding up different tops and trying to decide which color looked better. My main strategy? Looking at my eyes.
If a color made my eyes look brighter, I figured it must be a good one.
Color analysis taught me to look at the whole picture instead.
My skin. My eyes. My hair. My natural coloring. And most importantly, how all of those things work together.
Once I understood my colors, I started noticing things I hadn’t noticed before.
There were colors I liked, but I wasn’t always sure how they looked on me.
I didn’t necessarily think, This color makes my skin look dull or This top is overwhelming my features. I just knew that sometimes I liked what I was wearing, and sometimes I didn’t.
My hair was another piece of the puzzle. I had gotten used to seeing myself with lighter hair, but I didn’t realize how much it affected the overall balance of my coloring.
And black? It was an easy choice because black works with everything, right?
Well…not necessarily.

Looking back at my before photo, I can see what I couldn’t see before my analysis. My skin looks flatter, my hair color washes me out, and the black shirt takes over instead of letting my features be the focus.
And yes, there is still a cute puppy. Some things are always a good choice.
My color analysis showed that I’m a Warm Spring.
And honestly? I love that.
I love color. I love art and design. I like things that feel a little unexpected and a little different. So finding out that my best colors are brighter and more colorful than what I tend to see people wearing felt very fitting.
Instead of trying to tone myself down, I could actually lean into color.
My palette has warmth, brightness and a level of contrast that works with my natural coloring. And seeing all of those colors together helped me understand why certain colors felt better on me than others.
It also changed the way I looked at color.
Before my analysis, I was mostly looking at my eyes to decide whether a color worked.
Afterward, I learned to look at my whole face.
Does the color brighten my skin? Does it bring clarity to my eyes? Does it work with my natural hair color? Does it support my features, or do I notice the clothing before I notice the person wearing it?
That shift made a huge difference.
In my before photo, the black top creates a lot of contrast, but it doesn’t feel connected to my natural coloring.
In the after photo, the warm red-orange top feels much more at home.

My skin looks brighter and clearer. My natural hair color feels more harmonious. The warmth and vibrancy of the color bring out my features instead of competing with them.
And I look more like me.
That’s one of my favorite things about color analysis. You aren’t becoming a different person. You’re learning how to see what is already there.
I think this is where color analysis gets really interesting.
You can take your palette and use it however you want.
There are no color police coming to check your closet.
If you love black, wear black. If purple is your favorite color (it’s mine), we’re going to figure out which purples work best for you. If you live in navy, let’s look at the navy in your palette and see how it compares to the ones you’ve been wearing.
During my color analysis sessions, I spend time helping clients find the colors they actually like within their palette.
We also spend extra time on the colors they already wear.
Because knowing that you’re a certain season is one thing. Being able to walk into a store, pick up a blue top and recognize that’s my blue is much more useful.
Maybe you’ve always loved green but weren’t sure why some shades feel better than others.
Maybe you wear a lot of neutrals and want to know which ones make the best foundation for your wardrobe.
Maybe you’re standing in a fitting room holding two nearly identical tops and thinking, Which one?
That’s where understanding your colors can really help.
Once you know what you’re looking for, you don’t have to rely quite as much on guessing.
When you know your season, you know:
It doesn’t mean every item in your closet suddenly needs to match your palette.
For me, it means I have a better understanding of why I like certain colors on myself and why others never quite feel right.
And it gives me the confidence to wear more of the colors I love.
If you’ve ever wondered why certain colors make you feel great and others just feel…off, that’s exactly what color analysis can help you understand.
You might have a closet full of clothes but still reach for the same few pieces.
You might love a color on someone else but never feel quite right wearing it yourself.
You might wonder why the lipstick that looks amazing on your friend doesn’t have the same effect on you.
Or you might simply be curious.
That’s how I started.
